I have had many clients and many potential clients suggest that I create something specifically for the Winston-Salem dog community.
The first thing I will address is the Winston-Salem dog training program for obedience. I conduct five different types of obedience programs:
1. Dog Training at your home in the
Winston-Salem, Greensboro and Triad areas.
This is usually the best type of training because we can train your dog
on his home turf. Where he is more comfortable. Where he is most apt to
misbehave.
The typical training program consists of 1 - 3 lessons
usually spread out at weekly intervals. We do the basic obedience dog
training with the following commands: Let's Go, Sit, Down,
Sit-in-Motion, Down-in-Motion, Come, Place, Stay, Heel and Break.
Occasionally we will add another command or two to this repertoire as
needed for the family environment. I show you how to train
your dog and then you are expected to work with your dog on the
specific commands until I return. We also address any dog behaviors
that are needed.
As you are aware, you have to lead for positive change to take place.
It is my job to show you how to lead and get results from your
particular dog. Remember, we are not here to intimidate,
dominate, break your dog's spirit or physically harm him in any way. We
are here to make you the Leader of Your Pack and have your dog happily
follow. This is not about Show Ring Obedience; it is about real life
(although I can do that if you want it).
The initial session is $250.00. That first session is
comprehensive. It lasts approximately 1.5 hours. We
address why our dog does the things he/she does and how to fix
them. We work on behaviors and begin obedience training ...
all designed to make you your dog's leader. I truly believe
this session will provide the foundation for you and your dog to have a
wonderful life together. After the first session, each
session is $150.00 and lasts an hour. Again, if you and your
dog are committed, training can be done in 1 - 3
sessions. Many times one session is all that is needed to get
you on the right path.
2. Dog training at my home in
Winston-Salem. I own a farm off of Robinhood
Road in Winston-Salem. We do have a multitude of distractions here ...
horses, dogs, peacocks, cats, etc. This program can be fine as long as
your dog does not have any specific problems that need to be addressed
in your home.
The initial session is $250.00 for the Winston-Salem My Home
Training Package. That first session is comprehensive and
will last an hour and a half. Just as above, we address why
our dog does the things he/she does and how to fix them. We
work on behaviors and begin obedience training ... all designed to make
you your dog's leader. I truly believe this session will
provide the foundation for you and your dog to have a wonderful life
together. After the first session, each session is $100.00
and lasts an hour. Everything else is the same as
above. Again, if you and your dog are committed, training can
be done in 1 - 3 sessions.
3. The 14-17 Day Residency Program
is the most popular starter dog training program
we offer. This is the most popular starter dog training
program we offer. This program is designed for busy families
who do not have the time to do everything with their dog or puppy to
make them understand life is changing. Your dog
will actually come live with me and my family in my home. He does not
live in some outdoor kennel, but lives in my home. He becomes
a member of my pack.
In this program we begin teaching him the obedience commands that are
necessary for him to learn to adapt to pack structure. You
come to visit and learn how to become the leader of your pack 2-3 times
before he goes home. Usually there is 1-2 more lessons
afterwards; but, I will offer you as many lessons as needed at no
additional charge until you feel comfortable. I want you to
succeed.
Many, many families/dog owners love this program as it still
gives them hands-on in the training of their dog. The cost of
the 14-17 Day Residency Program is $ 1275.00. Be sure to ask

4. The 30 Day Dog Residency Program
is also where your dog will actually come live with me and my family in
my home. Again, he actually lives in our home with my family
and my dogs. We do all of the obedience, behavior modification, etc.
He/she actually becomes a member of my pack for a few weeks.
I want you to come visit your dog at least 2-3 times during
the stay if possible. During your visit I will
begin teaching you how to take control and become your dog's
leader. We chronicle how to follow-up on his training on
video so that you can always review the proper training for a
refresher. At the end of his stay, I return your dog to your
home and have at least 1-2 more training sessions at my farm.
Of course, we can have many more training sessions if needed at no
extra cost to you..
The cost of the Winston-Salem Residency Dog Training Package is
$2975.00. This program is great for someone that is going on vacation
or is planning a trip. I will only bring in 2-3 dogs at any given time
in this program. Be sure to ask about our $100 Rebate!
Note: This is the minimum training time for dogs with major
behavioral issues.
5. The Starter Dog Training Vacation
Residency Program is a new program that has been
requested by you. Are you planning to be out of town on
vacation or a short trip? If so, we can begin a dog training
program that will start teaching your dog things that are important to
you. It can be done in lieu of boarding your dog plus your
dog will live with me in my home.

I am not doing group classes at this time. I was involved with the
initial dog training classes at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC a
number of years ago. While I enjoyed the social aspects, I just had too
many clients not willing to put in the work that they needed with their
dog.
In Conclusion
Training your dog is a lot like life. You get out of it what
you put into it. Your are going to have to work to show your
dog that you have what it takes to lead. The dog training
packages above are designed to help you become the Leader of your Pack
without dominating, intimidating or hurting your dog.
